When will your RV tanks actually fill?
There is a specific kind of dread that hits around day three of a boondocking stretch. You glance at the monitor panel and the black tank LED has jumped from a third full to completely full overnight. Or you step into the shower, turn the handle, and nothing drains because the gray tank has backed up into the stall. Gray daily fill: (4 × 2.5) + (2 × 10) = 30 gallons a day. Available space is 40 gallons, so the gray tank fills in about 1.3 days. Black daily fill: 4 × 4 = 16 gallons a day. Available space is 30 gallons, so the black tank fills in about 1.9 days.
The gray tank is the bottleneck here, and it fills alarmingly fast. Switch those two showers to navy style at 3 gallons each and gray daily drops to 16 gallons, stretching the runway to 2.5 days. That single habit change nearly doubles the off-grid time.
